What should I eat before a workout?

Ideally, you should have some form of 'fuel' (nutrition) in your system 20 to 30 minutes before the schedule workout. Eat wisely, by consuming an easily digestible carbohydrate 60 to 90 minutes before gym time to ensure you have enough energy in your 'tank' to get you through the program I created for you.

If, however, you exercise first thing in the morning, eating before your scheduled workout may not be an option. Many people find that they can tolerate cardio on empty stomach, but need some sort nutrition to get through a strength training routine. It's essential to your fitness to plan your pre-workout meal the night before which will assist in your transformation. Experiment with different types of food and the timing of your pre-workout meal to discover what works best for you..

What should I eat after a workout?

What you consume before, during, and especially after your workout is important. By consuming particular nutrients after you workout will improve your body composition, performance, and overall recovery. Choose to eat a protein and also, a starchy vegetable for your carbohydrate. I suggest to eat sweet potatoes, yams, squash, or even pumpkin for your post-workout carbohydrate. It is understandable that you may not feel quite like eating after a workout but a moderately small portion of both carbohydrates and protein is recommended 45 minutes or less after you workout.

The sooner the better is the motto to maximize the benefits from the post-workout nutrition to replenish glycogen, decrease protein breakdown, and increase protein synthesis. Make a routine to eat some sort of post-workout nutrition which will lead you to become more healthy, lean, and fit.

How frequently should I see a trainer?

Body-Made-By-Love understands that the ideal frequency of training should vary from person to person. The ideal frequency for majority of my clientele is 2 to 3 per week and also, personal cardio workout is encouraged for my clients to complete in between the off days to stay consistent and increase the rate of the transformation process.

A client being well prepared and ready to train before the scheduled start time will increase client's personal motivation and desire that will in turn create an atmosphere of positivity.

What is the secret to fitness?

Stretching is the key to fitness. What happens when you don’t stretch? Nothing. For a while. Post-workout stretching is daily maintenance for your body. A tune-up for your muscles as they strengthen, tighten, and grow. Stretching can aid in reversing hardening of the arteries and minimizes post-workout soreness by allowing the muscles shrink back to normal size. Here are a list of benefits that are associated with stretching:

For Your Body

  • Helps improve flexibility
  • Assists in correct posture by lengthening tight muscles that pull areas of the body away from their intended position
  • Potential to decrease injury by preparing muscles for work before activity
  • Increases blood and nutrient supply to muscles, thereby possibly reducing muscle soreness.

  • For Your Mind

  • Even a short amount of time (10-15 minutes) of stretching can calm the mind, provide a mental break, and give your body a chance to recharge
  • Classes like yoga or pilates offer you a chance to spend an hour releasing tension physically and mentally

Why do I lose my motivation and desire to train when my goals have not been accomplished?

Success starts off in your mind. If you know and believe in your realistic goal, you can accomplish anything. It all starts in a client's mind first, one of the reasons why it's important to hire a personal trainer that you trust to help you become successful in fitness.

I will help you become accountable for your personal goals. I will help you set up personal reminders to assist you in staying focused on the new vision of yourself. I will call and text to remind clients of their own personal workout times outside of our training together. I will educate, teach, and train you to become a better you, one day at a time.
